Five years ago I was broke, behind in my bills, and recovering from an abusive relationship. I was a tired, unwed single mother with two small children, who was confused about my purpose in the world, and wanting a man.

There was a time I lived off food stamps, WIC, and public housing while making minimum wage. I could only see the negative in my life and anything good seemed beyond reach.

I was also miserable, angry at the world and myself, and ready to give up. I had hit rock bottom (in my estimation) and could go nowhere but up.

My Childhood Dreams Became a Nightmare!

All of my life I dreamed of how I wanted my life to be. I had a vision of success that included: being a corporate executive, driving a nice car, having a wonderful husband, a nice, comfortable-sized house, and a couple of children.

I didn’t necessarily want to be rich, but I wanted to be comfortable. Soon my dreams turned into fantasies and I got off track. I bought into the media hype of success, and became disillusioned when my life didn’t turn out like the people on TV, in magazines, and romance novels. Though my view of life became distorted, I knew I wanted to be successful.

Things Began to Turn Around

Today I am well-paid, up to date on most of my bills, and enjoying a healthy long-term relationship. I am content, full of peace, and optimistic about my current life and future.

What happened?
How did I go from misery to mastery?
How did I go from down and out to successful?
How did I go from barely surviving to absolutely thriving?

Society and the media portray single mothers as miserable losers. We are not supposed to be happy and successful. My success as a single mom didn’t happen overnight. Getting where I am today happened over time; it took hard work, personal sacrifice, and a realistic, yet optimistic look at my circumstances.

I learn not to define success as having a lot of money, fine cars, big houses; all the typical media hype. I formed my own definition of success as reaching certain personal goals and being happy with myself. Having peace and having a life has since become my definition of success.

One day I decided that I would have the life of my dreams. I took definite steps to complete my education, get a job that paid enough to support my two children and me and eventually wake up to the love that I had all along. I have had many ups and downs since that day, but each choice has been a lesson learned which took me a step closer to my goals.

Since taking those steps and following the techniques I am going to show you, life has been good. Looking back over my life it seems that I’ve had one struggle after another (mostly of my own doing), but I always seem to bounce back. My friends say that I have a lot of guts because I will take risks above and beyond what she or anyone else she knows will take. I took a lot of chances in life. Some were good and others were complete failures.

If I hadn’t taken a chance on life and on myself I wouldn’t have any of these blessings. Looking back, I see that my life has been full. I visualized what I wanted for my life and I went for it. I didn’t let anyone hold me back, though many people tried. I was determined and stubborn in my quest for a full life.

I have enjoyed the journey to where I am, but I am not done yet. So much more is to come and in reality, the journey has just begun. The tough times in your life may not have been like mine, but the outcome can be just as sweet!
