New and Improved SearchMothers.com Website for Mothers Launched
Posted by: | CommentsLumberton, NJ (PRWEB) February 10, 2006
SearchMothers.com (http://www.SearchMothers.com), a leading online resource for mothers for the last five years, has launched a new, redesigned and improved website this week. The new website, which is designed as a monthly online magazine, features articles on subject matter that is of great interest to single and married mothers with custody, as well as single mothers by choice. It also offers an expanded searchable web directory, enhanced community message boards, and interactive tools. The pre-screened links in the directory are to relevant websites, podcasts, research and other online resources.
The website will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this May. It was initially launched in 2001 and is managed by New Jersey-based, Tech Research Services. SearchMothers.com serves the information and online community needs of today’s single and married custodial mothers in a shared parenting arrangement, single mothers by choice, non-custodial moms, and mothers-to-be.
The site now offers more interactive message boards, more articles, more pre-screened links, a pregnancy calendar, and polls. Overall content focuses on joint custody and shared parenting, custodial mothering lifestyles, single mothers and dating, balancing work and family, parenting, childcare, pregnancy, relationships, healthy living, and money management. The site encourages positive, healthy living, and personal growth for Mothers, and assistance in making the best life for their children.
MESSAGE BOARDS
This online resource for mothers also includes an enhanced Message Board area http://www.searchmothers.com/msgboards/ that allows visitors to find members in their area, email other members, send private messages to other members, receive email alerts when posts have been answered, search the boards and more. The new features are a result of requests over the past few years from site visitors.
?We hope that visitors enjoy the new website and continue to find it to be a valuable place to search for information, and a comfortable place to share opinions, experiences, and ideas,? said Sonina Matteo, Founder of SearchMothers.com.
?Our search functionality looks at human pre-screened links to many different types of Internet resources and was designed to help you find what you are looking for fast. We have no top banner ads and pop-ups, or irrelevant advertising that will slow you down from your goal of getting information. Less than 25% of the website has advertising, of which the majority today is Google AdSense?, ? said Ms. Matteo.
Submitting your website, podcast, blog, or rss feed to SearchMothers.com is free. All sites and/or feeds are reviewed. The suggested site’s content needs to relate to and/or benefit mothers and their family to be listed.

The Single Moms Cure for Insomnia
Posted by: | CommentsI had a question about insomnia. I was able to answer here question about what to use to get some sleep because I’ve been there. As single moms we have so much to think about and worry about. The future, about money, and loneliness all contribute to those sleepless nights.
Our minds start to race, especially in highly stressful times so sleep becomes illusive. We may fall asleep but can’t stay asleep or sleep just won’t come at all. This is one problem that I’m sure most single moms have faced.
There were times when it felt like I didn’t sleep for weeks. My mind just wouldn’t stop running. The next day I was tired and cranky, which was unfortunate for my kids. I still have those nights when I wake up at 3am and can’t get back to sleep.
To get to sleep I do several things as listed below. Give them a try if you are ever facing insomnia. They will likely help. They are non-habit forming and have been used for centuries.
Lavender
I suggest that you get some lavender. It can be lavender essential oil, lotion, and candles. I use this when I have insomnia and it works well without poisoning my body with medication.
Valerian Root
I’ve also use Valerian herb. It comes in capsule form and though it doesn’t smell great it also helps you relax enough to fall asleep. For more information about this herb take a look at this website. With these two natural remedies you will be sleeping like a baby.
Writing
The most important thing is to find out why your mind is racing. You probably already know but it is helpful to really focus your mind on it then WRITE it down.
Writing does wonders. It empties your mind because as long as the thoughts are running rampant in your head you will never get rest. Do what is called stream of consciousness writing. Just write until you can’t write another word. After you are done you will be exhausted and able to rest.
